Talk carnival ! The Town Band will play a number of selections in the main street tomorrow night. A meeting in connection with the combined trades sports is advertised to take place at Le Sueur’s club room tonight. A Stratford correspondent estimates the total of the milk cheques paid out in the district on 20th January at £22,000. A harvest festival and thanksgiving service will be held at Kakapuka next Sunday morning. Mr O. Price Owen will conduct the service. The Presbyterian Sabbath school has now resumed its sessions, and the superintendent and teachers will be glad to see all scholars back in their places next Sunday at 2.15 p.m.
The Te Awamutu Town Board call tenders for earthwork in Alexandra Street.
Applications are invited by the Town Board for the position of sanitary contractor.
Messrs Lawson and Swain will sell tomorrow on behalf of the Bowling club a 1000 gallon tank.
The Town Hall has been booked by the Philharmonic Society for a grand concert on Wednesday February 28th.
It has been decided to observe Wednesday February 2lst a full holiday at Te Awamutu on the occasion of the combined trades picnic. All business premises will therefore be closed for the day.
