TAUTARI.

(Own Correspondent.)

One of the most successful dances that has been held here took place in the public hall on Friday evening last. A strong committee, consisting of Messrs C. Mathers (secretary), Kurth, Ferguson, Roygard, and Patterson, had the arrangements well in hand, and a special feature was the way the decorations were arranged. The proceeds were in aid of funds for the school picnic, and judging by the number present there should be a big surplus to procure prizes for the children. Messrs C. Mathers and Roygard were the M's.C, and were kept busy during the evening attending to the wants of the dancers. The function was brought to a close by the singing of Auld Lang Syne.
