LAWN TENNIS.

Mr E. A. Cox, secretary of the Te Awamutu Lawn Tennis Club is now receiving entries for a tournament to be played on the Victoria Park Courts at suitable intervals during the present season. The tournament will be in three sections, and will comprise ladies' singles, gentlemen's singles, and combined doubles. The prizes have been presented to the club by Mrs C. T. Rickit and Mr W. N. von Stunner. The entries close on Saturday next (20th inst.), and it is hoped that all club members will enter, and so show some practical appreciation of the action of those who so kindly presented the trophies. Members of the Hamilton Club will visit Te Awamutu on 29th January (Anniversary Day). The team will probably- consist of ten players —four ladies and six men. Local players are requested to practise hard in anticipation.
