There was a ripple of excitement in native circles on Tuesday when the election of a Parliamentary candidate for the Western M#sri electorate was conducted. For the Northern electorate, Te Rangihiroa, a Government supporter, has a lead of 295 with fourteen small results to come in, which cannot affect the result. In the Southern electorate,, the following is the polling :—Tare Parata (G) 264, John Uru 233, Tahuaroa Watson 130, James Apere 84, Te One Erihana 80, Hamiona Potete 18.
