TOWN BAND.
About two hundred people assembled in Victoria Park on Sunday afternoon when the Town Band played a number of selections. The bandsmen were present in full force, and the manner in which each item was played reflects the greatest credit upon the couductor and each individual member, and was doubtless the result of most assiduous practice. Since the last appearance of the band there is a marked improvement in the rendering of all selections, and the way in which they acquitted themselves on Sunday was most favourably commented upon by all present. . Donations were received for the band uniform fund, and a fair amount was subscribed towards this highly commendable object. The grounds looked verv pretty and already the benefits of this beautiful and most valuable Park, which is so centrally situated, are being realised and taken full advantage of by local residents. It is hoped that the band will again appear as they did on Sunday last, as residents are not slow to appreciate their efforts to provide entertainment and assistance to social functions of our town.
