RANGIAOHIA ROAD BOARD.
The regular meeting of the above Board was held on Saturday last. There were present Messrs D. Cavanagh (chairman), Geo. McGhie, W. Long, R. Ramsay and W. J. Melville. Kihikihi-Otorohanga Road. The actual amount of Government grant available for the Kihi-kihi-Otorohanga road was discussed. —The chairman thought the full £SOO was in doubt. Storey’s Road. The supervisor and Mr Ramsay reported on their inspection of this road. Some thirty or forty yards of earth would be sufficient for summer traffic.—lt was decided to have the work carried out. Loan. The clerk reported his havingforwarded the debentures to Wellington in connection with . the Board’s loan. Works. The supervisor reported on the various works in progress and further jobs were authorised. — It was decided to have’- a good side road made from Perry’s corner to Bruce’s, and that the Waipa County be asked to assist in the work at Holden’s cutting. Closing Roads. Mr Flay wrote asking the Board to close a by road near his lake road property. Resolved to allow Mr Flay use of the road until it was required. Resignation. Mr Melville tendered his resignation, owing to having sold his farm and would be leaving the district. —The resignation was received with regret. The clerk was instructed to have the vacancy filled. ' Overcharge. The charge made by the contractors for spreading road metal, viz., is per yard, was considered outrageous. Punui Bridge. It was decided to have the fern and rubbish cleared away from near the Punui bridge owing to the danger of fire. Holidays. The supervisor was authorised to pay wages due to workmen at Christmas time. Accounts. The following accounts were passed for payment: —Wilson & Co., £IOO, C. Teddy £4l, R. Flay £9, J. Livingtone 10s, D. McCormick £9 4s, Jennings and Bowman £BO, Reilly Bros. £34 16s 4d, H. Andrew £69 15s 6d, C. Pellow £4 19s, C. Hinton £5.
