POLITICAL NOTES.

Sir Joseph Ward addressed a large meeting at Taumarunui on Wednesday night, and received an enthusiastic reception. He was awarded a vote of thanks and renewed confidence. Mr Massey addressed a crowded meeting at Palmerston North on Wednesday night. Pie was received with prolonged cheering, and at the conclusion a vote thanking Mr Massey for his address and hoping he would be returned with a substantial majority to take up the position of leader of the Government was passed. Cheers for Mr Massey closed the meeting.
