THE AUSTRALASIAN PRODUCT. In the annual report of the British Government Analytical Chemist it is stated that 1084 samples of imported butter were examined. Of these 455 contained boron preservative, in which respect the Australian butter reaches the highest limit with 162 samples, and France .iiext with 96 samples. Attention is'again drawn to the increase in the quantity of water in butter imported from the colonies since the fixing of the maximum limit of 16 per cent. The average, quantity of water in Australian butter last year was 12.Q5 per cent, and in New Zealand butter 1 3-06. ■
