TE AWAMUTU SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
A meeting of the above committee was held in the public library last evening. Present: Messrs Stewart, von Stunner, Dr Reekie, Rev. W. Woollass, G. Spinley, and Mr H. Y. Collins chairman.
The secretary reported that Mr W. H.'SMandeno had prepared a plan for levelling the ground at the back of the school, which would make an excellent playground for the children. It was resolved that Mr Mandeno be thanked for preparing the plan, and that the levelling be done next winter, and in the meantime tenders be called for fencing in the school grounds. The report for the recent school concert was submitted, which showed the gross taking to be £l6 and expenses £3, leaving £l3 for the school funds.
It was resolved to hearily thank the staff for their efforts in getting up the concert, and in view of the heavy demands which the committee will have to face to ask them to get up another concert before the end of the year. Sundry accounts were passed for payment, and the meeting closed.
