THE LAMBING SEASON.
The present season in the Wairarapa has been exceptionally favourable for lambing, and the death-rate from storms lias been practically nil. Notwithstanding this, some of the locul stud breeders are puzzled over the unsatisfactory manner in which their ewes are lambing. As their rams were turned out early in the season, it was naturally expected that there would be a large pro-
portion of lambs before the second week in September. The " Age " is informed that in some cases the percentages are very small, and it is feared that totals in some of the stud flocks will work out badl}' - .
