RANGIAOHIA.
(Own Correspondent.) Apart from the price of butterfat there is possibly no topic of conversation more general among the farmers than that of weather. It seems that the general complaint is that the splendid rains should be followed by such cold, harsh winds, therefore minimising the "good effect of the late m«eh-nceded and long, lookcdfur rains Still we cannot (and fortunately for us it make our own weather, whole our farmers are ail right.
The local creamery is now running full time, and considering the rather severe winter, the supply is good, and in addition to this the home separators, oi whom there is now a considerable number in the district, are going full-steam ahead, as evidenced by the cveam ens dotted along the road-side awaiting the carter, the latter now being under contract to cart for the whole district
from Panehakua (Mr Park's estate) to Te Awamutu. Feed is .siiii scarce throughout the district, but spring which is now, or will soon be with us, is already showing its effects, the paddocks becoming a more healthy green, and before long it will be a matter of "cheques galore" and "whoppers" at that —at least we will all hops so. A most enjoyable dance —one of the winter series of dances — took place in the local (town) hall on Friday evening last. Unfortunately the number of lady dancers in the district is very limited, but a number of Te Awamutu ladies kindly came to the rescue, and these latter, together with a number of TC Awamutu young gentleman who usually and very kindly come to Rangiaohia to assist in all social functions, helped to make the dance of Friday evening a huge success, quite a respectable amount again being raised towards helping the Hall funds. Mr Fred Kay, the prime mover in these social evenings is deserving of great praise for the energy and zeal he puts into the matter.
