(Own Correspondent.) Under the auspices of the Literary and Debating Society a "Social Evening" will be held in the Town Hall on Friday, Sept. sth, An excellent programme of

musical and elocutionary items, interspersed with games, and followed by supper, has been arranged for the early part of the evening. Dancing for which Mrs Gardiner will supply the music, will then be indulged in. _ Mr W. Grace's many friends in and around Kihik'ihi will be pleased to hear that he is making a satisfactory recovery from his recent severe illness. Mr Grace's familiar and genial presence has been greatly missed from the streets of the town.
