CO-OPERATION IN THE
The promoters of the proposed Waikato Bacon Company announce an address'in the Town Hall to-night, and at Kihikihi tomorrow (Wednesday). Commenting on the proposal the Waikato Times states: —
"It certainly seems that the proposed co-operative bacon company to start at Frankton Junction will be well supported by farmers over a wide area. We are glad to see that the crusade over the district which is being undertaken by those enthusiasts who wish to see the company established is proceeding so successfully, and we have every hope that the' promises of support will materialise when the day comes for the formation of the business. The co-operative movement has proved so successful in the Waikato with regard to the dairying industry that the' same lesults maj' - be expected from the pork business, especially as the latter may be taken as an adjunct to the dairy herd. The demand for bacon and' its possibilities will do much to keep the farmers in good heart, and we trust that every assistance will be given the company, so that it may take a prominent' place amongst those in the Dominion. The flotation of the business is in capable hands, 'and the whole prospects appear to be excellent. We are sure that the work of the company will mean, in a little time, much to our farming community."
