TE AWAMUTU LAWS TENNIS CLUB.

The annual general meeting of the above Club was held in the Public Library last night. There was a fair attendance of members. Dr. Henderson (President) presided for the first part of the meeting. In his absence Mr Wood was voted to the chair. The minutes of the last general meeting were read and confirmed. The balance-sheet for the past season was read and adopted. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: — President, W. N. Von Stunner, Esq.; vice-presidents, Messrs R. S. Galbraith, F. D. Wood and Dr. Henderson ; secretary, Mr E. A. Cox ; treasurer, Mr R. G. Blennerhassett; committee, Messrs S. A. Empson, R. G. Blennerhasset, J. McGovern, A. C. Cruickshank, and Dr Reekie.

Delegate to the Auckland Association, Mr E. A. Cox. Auditor, Mr F. D. Wood.

The arranging of the ladies’ committee was left in the hands of the general committee. The were fixed at the following rates : Senior members, gentlemen £l is ; ladies 10s 6d; junior members 15s and 7s 6d: honorary members 5s and 2s 6d : visiting members 5s per month, life members,gentlemen £6 6s; ladies £3 3s. Miss L. Pollard and Mr C. W. Rickit resigned as members of the Club.

The arranging of the opening day for the ensuing season was left in the hands of the general committee.

It was unanimously decided to write thanking the Puniu Domain Board for providing the Club with the new courts at the Victoria Park.

Mr E. A. Cox offered a trophy for ladies’ championship singles to be competed for during the ensuing season.

The' meeting expressed appreciation of the efforts of the retiring president (Dr Henderson) to popularise the Club, and for trophies presented. The meeting terminated with a vote of thanks to the retiring officers, and to all those who had donated prizes during the past season.
