The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report : We held a horse sale in Hamilton on Tuesday, Bth insfc., when forty unbroken colts and fillies and 173 unbroken horses were submitted. There was a large attendance, and buyers were keen to operate on all classes, and out of the whole entry only weedy sorts were passed in. High prices were realised for medium draughts, especially young mares, in fact everything sold well. Prices : Unbroken 3 year medium fillies £2B to £34, 3 year colts £22 to £23 10s, 2 year colts £lB ios to £22, lighter 2 year colts £ll 10s to £l7, others £8 10s to £lO, aged draught stallion £35, medium draught young mares £37 to £47, geldings £29 to £4O, waggon and plough horses £2l ios to £27 10s, light harness and bus horses £l6 to £2O, hacks £l2 los to £l7, one hunter £3O, cobs for saddle or harness £9*to £l6, riding cobs and ponies £5 to £lO, aged do, £1 ios to £4, buggy £ls, gig £ls. At Hamilton on Thursday we had a good yarding of fat and store cattle, also sheep and pigs. There was a good demand for all classes at the following rates. — Best fat steers Lio 7s 7d to LlO ios, lighter weights L 6 19s, fat cows L 5 5s to L 6 los, yearling, steers L 3, mixed yearlings well grown and good condition L2 13s to L2 18s, others L2 2s to L2 6s, 15 month heifers L 3 7s 6d, yearling heifers L2 16s to L 3, 15 month steers L 3 9s, dairy cows L 6 to LlO ss, springing heifers L 6 5 s to L 6 15s, do. more backward' L 4 to L 5 ss, cull cows L 3 7s 6d to L 3 lOs 6d, fat wethers 17s to 19s, store ewes 8s 3d, forward do. I2s iod, store pigs Li Is to'Ll 2s, good slips 13s to 16s, breeding sows L 3, waggon L 25.
