NEW POST OFFICE.
We had hoped by now to have been able to inform our readers of the name of the successful tenderer, the cost, and the date of the commencement of the erection of the new post office. This information, however, is not yet available. We have not, however, overlooked our promise to take such steps as will ensure an announcement in this connection at the earliest possible moment. As a result of our efforts we are enabled to place the following letter at the disposal of our readers: —
Public Works Department, Wellington, I/th July, 1911. The Editor, Waipa Post, Te Awamutu. —The tenders for the Te Awamutu post office have been opened by the Tenders Board, and in pursuance of the ordinary rule all tenders except the two lowest have been declined aqd the deposits returned. The two lowest are retained pending the Government’s instructions in the matter. As soon as we get instructions to accept a tender I will let von know. —Yours since tel y, it. j. ii. blow, Undersecretary.
