The Waipa Post. PUBLISHED EVERY TUESDAY AND FRIDAY. FRIDAY, JUNE 16, 1911. PERMANENT STREET LEVELS.
WE have been asked to give our opinion on the question of the town authorities getting permanent levels fixed for our principal streets. There can be no question but that this is a matter of first importance, and should be attended to without, delay. Independent of the question of costs, which will only increase the longer it is left. It must be borne in mind that we are in the position of wanting every good business man we can get to settle in our town. While we would deprecate anything in the shape of a boom, we Certainly want the town to make progress, and this is one of the things that, will help. Several important transactions in town property have taken place, and others are in progress, which will have considerable influence on the future of the town. We ought to give all the assistance possible to prospective settlers, and if the levels of the streets were fixed there would be no difficulty in the builders getting to work. The Town Board no.doubt has got its work cut out, and we feel sorry for the members, as a great arrears of work must be made up, but they are doing well, and we feel sure they will do what is right in this matter also.
