On Monday evening the residents formed a surprise party and visited Mrs Harris, who has lately moved into her new residence. The visitors took possession of the house and soon the company were quite at home. Mr Hanson,.who had brought his phonograph, was the means of enlivening the proceedings, while several songs and choruses were duly sung. Refreshments were partaken of and one of the rooms was cleared for dancing. The oarty finally broke up by singing "AuldLang Syne.." Mr Stanwell is at present out of the district, being on a holiday trip.
