The first batch of Coronation medals for New Zealand school children arrived at Wellington from England last week by the Turakina, and will be sent to the more remote Education Boards, a second consignment for the centres being due on June 15th. The distribution arrangements have been left to the various education boards, and it is intended to have the full supply available in good time before Coronation Day, so that they may be handed to the children at public functions, if desired. There are 175,000 medals on order sufficient-for all the pupils of State primary schools, State institutions such as the school for the deaf, and children in private schools which are officially inspected.
