Before Mr F. O’B. Loughnan, S.M. Constable Drummond represented
the Police
Johnson and Co. (Mr Hosking) claimed from W. D. Turner the sum of £22 6s 4d. Judgment went by default for amount claimed and costs £3 17s. R. Rhodes v. B. Le Prou was adjourned, as was also case Ellis and Burnaud v. H. Raynor. In G. Otway v. B. Le Prou, there being no appearance of either party, the case was struck off the list. Toto Rewa (Mr Hosking) claimed from A. Smith (Mr Phillips) the sum of Cl 3 15s (wages), being the difference between two ways of reckoning up. Ihe Magistrate decided in favour of the defendant, and non-suited plaintiff. In a counter claim lor goods supplied, Smith was awarded £6 14s 4d, and Court costs 3s. In another case Te Wa fieri aim (Mr Hosking) v. A. Smith (Mr Phillips) after evidence had been interpreted and books produced, a verdict was given for plaintiff for £1 4s 4d and costs 14s. In the case Pouaka lukewai v. W. Lowe (Mr Phillips), a pair of hames and chains, the property of informant, were in dispute, but the case was dismissed.
