Saturday next, the King's birthday, will be observed as a holiday by all the Te Awaniutu tradesmen. All shops will therefore remain open to-morrow (Wednesday) afternoon and be closed all day on Saturday. An extended evening was held on Saturday evening in connection with the dancing classes conducted by Miss Teasdale. About 40 couple were present all of whom spent a most enjoyable evening. It is understood Miss Teasdale will continue her classes throughout the ensuing season, a notification which will be received with pleasure by our readers. Advice was received yesterday stating that a very valuable consignment of 11 Red Lincoln cattle, which were sent from England to the order of Mr Wm. Taylor, "Green Hill," had arrived in Wellington by the Drayton Grange on Saturday. It is expected they will arrive, in Auckland by the end of the week, and after the usual period of quarantine' (40 days) will be brought to Te Awamutu. In a later issue we expect to be able to give more particulars of this very valuable addition to the Waikato dairy herds.
