According to a writer in the "Hawera Star," there are some 2500 farmers in Taranaki, and out of these but 300 are members of the Farmers' Union. The By-laws of the Town Board seem of but little use as far as some people are concerned, for the footpaths in many places are being damaged by cattle traffic. The By-law prohibiting this practice will be rigidly enforced, and without a doubt a prosecution will follow if a little respect is not paid to the demands of the Board. Mr J. Walsh, tailor, announces the arrival of his first shipment of seasonable tweeds. —Advt.
