RAILWAY SERVICE.

MUCH NEEDED REQUIREMENTS EFFECTED.

In response to much agitation throughout the southern Waikato and King Country Districts the Minister for Railways has issued instructions that, for a trial period of three months a passenger carriage will be attached to the morning goods train travelling south, and the evening goods train travelling north. By this means local residents will be able to go as far as Otorohanga, Te Kuiti or even Taumarunui and return within tne one day which has hitherto been a two days' trip. The trains leave Te Awamutu at 8. 35am. and at about Ilpm. respectively.
