HOLIDAY'S MOTOR TOLL
A GRIM LIST FIVE PERSONS KILLED AND OTHERS INJURED. Road a*eidents took toll of five lives in New Zealand since Saturday night, and at least six others are reported to be seriously injured. All the fatal accidents occurred in the North Island, and all those killed were men. One was a traffic inspector. aged 25; another an old-age pensioner, aged (5!); a third a small hoy. aged nini . tin ourth a painter, aged 59: and the remaining one a contractor, a_md 31. Motor cycles were involved in three of the accidents. a true' in one, and a small car in the fifth. Two men on foot, one motor cyeli t, <ne pillion rider and one boy on a i tic were killed. Rotorua, Gisborne Wellington, New Plymouth and Hastings were the scenes of the fatalities.
