A CHRISTMAS MESSAGE

FROM THE MAYOR TO THE BURGESSES. At the invitation of the “Mail” the Mayor, Mr F. Eagle, gives the following Christmas message to the residents of the district:— “I am very pleased to take this opportunity of wishing the people of Waipawa and surrounding districts a very Merry Christmas and a bright and prosperous New Year. In common with other towns of New Zealand Waipawa has had its troubles and worries, but I am satisfied that we can look forward to the coming year as one which will show a big forward movement in all our activities. “To all I would say, carry the Christmas spirit into your everyday activities. Don’t let it be just the urge of a fleeting moment. Cultivate the spirit of good citizenship, and take your part in any movement which has for its object the advancement of the town and district. You will have your reward not only in increased happiness but contentment in the knowledge that you have done something that will bring happiness and prosperity to others.”
