Mr H. M. Christie, M.P. for pawa, arrived at Auckland last <• ing by the Rangitanc, on his rei from England. Advice from Auckland states the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon, J. Savage, is improving in hei and hopes to be well enough to rei to Wellington next Monday. Mi i .1. A. Lockhart, formerly charge of the secondary depart of the District High School and headmaster of the Denniston i)j, High School, is at present on a visit to Waipawa, renewing friendships. Advice was received in Wain to-day that Mr R. A. IV former stationmaster at Waipj met with a painful accident at 1 Ahuriri.
