Mr H. M. Christie, Labor member for Waipawa, is due to arrive in Auckland to-day from a visit to England. Mrs Reg. Cook has been appointed to the position of secretary of the Tavistock Lodge, Waipukurau, a position rendered vacant by the resignation of Bro. P. E. Bollons. Mr and Mrs P. E. Bollons were the guests at a farewell social at Waipukurau, organised by the local Oddfellows’ Lodge, of which institution Mr Bollons has been secretary for the past 30 years. The function was attended by members of the order from all parts of the province. Mr Bollons was presented with a cheque by Bro. H. A. Scherf, N.G. of Tavistock Lodge.
