’PLANE TO COST £loo.

RUNNING COST OF A MOTOR CYCLE. LONDON, November 6. At least one inventor is determined to bring down the cost of flying. He is Captain S. H. Gaskell, of Worthing, and he claims to have invented a £IOO ’plane that will cost no more to run than a motor cycle. Tests will soon be made at Shoreham airport. If these succeed ’planes will be manufactured at Worthing. It is claimed that the new machine has a cruising speed of 75 miles an hour and a landing speed of 25 to 30 miles an hour.

Captain Gaskell said: “ I have aimed for simplicity of design, using' orthodox methods. I have used a 10 h.p. engine.”
