Mr and Airs 11. T. Limbrick returned to AVaipawa yesterday morning. Mr E. F. Liddell, accompanied by Mrs Liddell and small daughter, who have been staying with Mr Liddell’s mother (Airs L. Pratley) for the Liddell —Duncan wedding, returned to Auckland last evening. A very old resident of Napier, in the person of Air R. Bishop, passed to his long rest on Wednesday night, in his 84th year. The late Air Bishop was bom in London and was brought up to commercial pursuits, being employed in a large London warehouse for several years. He came to New Zealand in 1874 in the Halcione, and landed at AA’ellington. For a time he was a well-known traveller, but when Alessrs Sargood, Son and Ewen opened in Napier in 1893 he was appointed manager. He retired from this position some years ago. Air Bishop for a few years was deputy Official Assignee at Napier. The deceased gentleman took a great interest in Freemasonry, being a Fast Master of Lodge Seindc and Past Grand AA’aiden of Grand Lodge. On September 18th last Mr and Airs Bishop celebrated the 62nd anniversary of their wedding. To mourn their loss he leaves a widow, four sons (including Air R. Bishop, of AVaipawa) and four daughters, to whom the sympathy of a very wide circle of friends will be extended.
