ODDFELLOWSHIP.

ABBOTSFORD LODGE MEETING. Some forty members attended the fortnightly meeting of Abbotsford Lodge on Friday evening, N.G. Bro. R. T. Kirk presiding. One candidate was proposed for membership.

Advice was received that the District Grand Master and the District Officers would pay an official visit to the lodge on February 28th.

A motion of condolence with the relatives of the late P.D.G.M. Bro. M. Collett was passed in silence, and it was resolved that a letter of sympathy should be forwarded. The following nominations for the office of Lecture Masters were received:—P.G.’s Bros. E. C. Kingston, J. A. McNeilly and F. Wallis. For the position of lodge auditor, P.G. Bro. A. D. Kerr. For three members of the lodge management committee, P.G.’s Bros. E. R,. Hutchings, E. Kingston, N. J. Kirk, W. J. Harris, F. C. Wallis, J. Waldrom and Bro. N. Rapley. The meeting was then adjourned until February 28th to enable the lodge to receive the officers and members of the Loyal Hastings Juvenile Lodge. A hearty welcome was extended to the visitors by the N.G., and they were accorded lodge honors, after which they gave a very fine demonstration of the working of the Juvenile Lodge ritual, including the initiation ceremony. Director Bro. N. J. McKay and P.G.’s Bros. Kerr and Kingston congratulated the members of the lodge on their efficiency. In expressing thanks for the invitation to visit Waipawa, and for the cordial welcome they had received, the supervisors of the Juvenile Lodge gave a considerable amount of information on the working' of the juvenile movement. A short programme, including instrumental, vocal, elocutionary and tap-dancing numbers, was then provided by the visitors, after which they were served with a delightful supper provided by the members of the social committee under the capable direction of Sister Harris. A community sing brought a very fine evening’s instruction and entertainment to a close.
