ODDFELLOWSHIP.

PAST GRANDS LODGE. The quarterly meeting of Loyal Ruataniwha. (Central'Hawke’s Bay) Past Grands Lodge was held in the Loyal Abbotsford Lodgeroom, Waipawa, on AVednesday evening, Bro. G.. Reg. Cook, president, presiding over a representative attendance. Advantage was taken of the occasion to extend congratulations to Bro. N. J. McKay, P.D.G.M. (a past president), on his election to the New Zealand Board of Directors, he being the first member of the lodge (established on September 20th, 1928, at Waipuknrau) to attain such an office. Bro. McKay briefly acknowledged the compliment, stating that he would, by invitation, be addressing a meeting of the Loyal Tavistock Lodge shortly anent the B.M.C. proceedings A resolution of sympathy with Bro. C. J. Bendeich, P.G., in his illness was passed. Bros. McKay and E. C. Hurdsfield, P.D.G.M. ’s, having intimqted their inability to again act as lodge ritual judges for the Central Hawke’s Bay area, Bros. W. G. Bryce, P.D.G.M., and Cook, were unanimously elected as such.

A resolution was passed expressing satisfaction with the favorable consideration accorded by the Board of Directors to the recommendations of the special Hawke’s Bay Committee (Bros. A. C. Holms and H. A. Pearce. P.D.G.M. ’s and past presidents and J. A. Johnston, P.G. secretary), re presenting the Loyal Ahuriri, Tamaki, and Ruataniwha P.G. Lodges, appointed to deal with the revision of the ritual. Copies of the new procedure are now available. On the motion of Bros. Bliss it was decided that Bro. McKay deliver an address at the annual meeting on the subjeet of assisting unemployed members of the Order to retain their membership and enjoy a section of privileges, as may be contributed to.

The nomination of officers resulted: Lecture Master, Bro. G. Reg. Cook; president, Bro. J. Waldron; vice-pre-sidents, Bros. T. Bvuhn, A. C. Bliss, E. C. Kingston, and D. Vesty; exam-iner-conductor, Bro. T. Bruhn; war dens, Bros. A. C. Bliss and E. C Kingston; treasurer, Bro. G. Reg Cook; Iron, auditor, Bro. E. C. Hurdsfield, P.D.G.M. The Management Committee will bf nominated at the anual meeting, the retiring members being Bros. Holms and E. A. V. Waite, P.D.G.M. ’s, and P. E. Bollons.

On the president’s motion, at the close of the meeting, the Abbotsford Lodge members (in particular Sister E. Pellow, F.S.) were thanked for their hospitality.
