ELECTRICAL ENERGY
IN CENTRAL’POWER BOARD S AREAMONTHLY PROGRESS REPORT. At the monthly’ meeting of the Central H.B. Power Board on Friday the secretary-manager, Mr G- EFowler, reported as follows: — The following is the maximum demand return since the last meeting ot the Board. The variation, it will be noted, is very considerable. For in stance, on Thursday, November 10th, the departmental maximum demand between 11.15 and 11.45 a.m. war 813. Between the same time on the following day, Friday, the 11th, the demand was 759, a drop of 54 k.v.a. The days were similar so far as temperature was concerned. Average Maximum Demand.—The average maximum demand for the month of October was as follows :- P.W.D.: Morning, 739.54: afternoon, 665.42. Power Board: Morning, 739.96; afternoon, 662.12.
The street light return for the month of October, 1932, is as follows:—Waipawa borough (54 lamps): During the month of October street light replacements totalled 14. of which seven were bracket, being 26.92 per cent, of the total bracket lamps • installed, and seven were suspension, being 25 per cent, of the total suspension lamps installed. This is an average of 25.92 per cent, as against 12.96 per cent, in September, and 22.22 per cent, in August W»i ; pukurau borough (96 lamps): Hoplacements for the month totalled 32. of which 24 were bracket, heing 28.5" per cent, of the total bracket lamps installed, and eight were suspension, being 66.66 per cent, of the tats* ‘ suspension lamps installed. This is an average of 33.33 per cent., a* against 23.95 per cent, in U itember, and 36.46 per cent, in Augv !. Three community lights were at f aded to during the month. Country area (36 lamps): Replacements totalled seven, of which six were bracket, bemf 20.68 per cent, of the total bracket lamps installed, and one «as suspension. being 13.85 per cent, of the total suspension lamps installed This 1* an average of 19.44 per cent. « s against 8.33 per cent, in September and 8.33 per cent, in A ■ t Mile" travelled totalled 83.
Ordinary Faults.—During the month ten ordinary fault were attended to, 196 miles bein vered by , the faultsmen. The sum : 13s **’ charged for attendance I faults.
New Connections.—New connections during the month totalled two.
