OPENING UP LANDS.

WORK OF THE BOARD. Up to the present time .£157,250 has been authorised by the Government for the development of farm lands. A report to this effect was received at a meeting of the Lands Development Board. At the lust meeting of the Board, at Wellington, several reports were received from the Advisory Committee oil properties that may prove suitable lor development. Some of the principal schemes authorised are:— ] Wharckuhe Block, situated near] Whangaroi, containing 3700 acres. Tenders are to he called for cultivation and development in suitable sized areas for this purpose. AVhangamarino Block, situated near Mercer, contains 850 acres, which it is estimated can he cut up into eight sections. J’ourini Block, near Ongarue, of 740 acres. This block will he divided into five sections. Onepu Block, situated near Te Telco.
