CREATE A REIGN OF TERROR. MELBOURNE, August 5. The reign of terror by armed bandits continues in Melbourne. Holdups over the week-end totalled seven. In each instance unescorted women were the victims, and in two cases at Moonee Ponds shots were tired to intimidate the victims. The proceeds in the majority of cases were small. SYDNEY, August 5. Masked robbers who secreted themselves in Michael Brigg’s butcher shop at Redforn. to-night, bound and gagged Briggs, covered him with a revolver and commenced to hunt for cash. They discovered a bottle of whisky and impudently consumed a large portion, when a woman neighbor, hearing the men’s threats to Briggs, telephoned the police, who dashed to the scene in a car and arested the bandits, but not before a shot was fired by one at the woman
