PERSONAL ITEMS.

Dr. and Mrs South and Mr and Mrs H. T. Limbrick have returned to Waipawa from a fortnight’s holiday spent at Waikaremoana.

At the Oddfellows’ Conference held at Dannevirke on Wednesday Bro. N. J. McKay, of the Abbotsford Lodge, was elected Deputy Grand Master for the Hawke’s Bay district. Mr D. Cochrane, of Ruataniwha, has received word that his daughter, Miss I. M. Cochrane, has been successful in passing her examination in dentistry at Wellington.

Kindly reference was made at the Oddfellows’ Conference at Dannevirke on Wednesday to the passing of Bro. 11. M. Rathbone, a former Grand Lodge officer and a trustee of Abbotsford Lodge for many years. It was decided to forward a letter of condolence to Mrs Rathbone.

Bio. H. S. M. Quigley has been nominated by the Hawke’s Bay District for the position of Grand Master of New Zealand of the Manchester Unitv of Oddfellows.

At last nights meeting of the School Committee a resolution was adopted expressing regret at the impending departure of Mr W. Cade, a member of the Committee, and congratulating him on his promotion to the position of postmaster at Kaitaia.

At the conclusion of the business af the Oddfellow's’ Conference at Dannevirke on Wednesday, the retiring District Grand Master, Bro. E. Waite, was presented with a P.D.G.M.’s collar from his own lodge (Ruahine) and with a gold jewel from the Management Committee in appreciation of his sterling service in the cause of Oddfellowship.
