Damage estimated at £30,000 was caused by a lire at Konunburra, which destroyed lour shops and seriously damaged several others before it was checked. For a considerable time all llie shops in the block were endangereil, but the firemen effected a good save. Two firemen were overcome by Limes from the burning buildings. bminll boys smoking cigarettes are believed to have been responsible for the lire.
