The aeiial age is a big step nearer with the British attempt to provide a runabout single-seater aeroplane to be sold for £3OO. These are at present being constructed at the Brooklands aerodrome. They are intended for short trips. The wing span is twentyfive feet and the machine lias an ARC. Scorpion engine. If is an answer to a German firm’s two-seater runabout for £SOO. What is believed to bo Ibe largest aeroplane shed in the world will be available at Croyden on January Ist for the housing of air liners employed on cross-Channel routes. It will accommodate fifty liners. Tin* existing sheds are capable of housing thirty-five liners. Although built as recently as .January last, so rapid has been file growth of the traffle that this accommodation has already proved in fid equate.
