AVAIPUKURAU JOCKEY CLUB. There was a good attendance al the AVaipukurau Jockey Club’s meeting on Wednesday, and the totalisator staff turned over £14,120, as against £13,531 last year. Mr AY. J. Wood scored a good win with the speedy Chopin in the Maiden Race, and supporters received quite a ufcstantial return for their investment. The same owner’s Belgian Queen broke down in the Braebum Handicap. when running well, and will have ‘o be spelled for some months. Mr P. F. AYall struck a double with i promising youngster Knihorn, who won the Juvenile anil the Talma Hack. In the Juvenile event Cuticle finish'll first, bill Joyce, the jockey, was three pounds short in weighing in, mil the horse was disqualified. Meantime someone had blundered, as the otalisator had been paying out oCuticle, and quite a number of tickets had been cashed before the countermanding order was received.
