PERSONAL ITEMS.

At tile quarterly meeting of the Waipawa Licensing Committee yesterday a resolution of sympathy was passed with the relatives of the late Mr H. M. Rathbone.

Mr F. B. Curd, who for the past sixteen years has filled the position of headmaster of the Waipukurau District High School, is retiring from the service at the end of the present year, for health reasons.

Miss Margaret O’Halloran is at present on a visit to Wellington, taking part in the competitions. She was highly commended for her effort in recitation in character, in which there were a large number of entrants.
