ARMS FOR CHINA.
GERMANY CONDUCTS HUGE TRADE.
LONDON, February 18.
The “Daily Mail’s” Geneva correspondent says the co-ordination commission lias secured ample evidence to show that Germany is conducting a huge trade in arms and munitions. Her best customer is China, to whom vast quantities are exported, disguised as agricultural implements and pianos.
Private manufacturers ”of arms are unquestionably responsible for China ’s'feondition, and are also suspected of encouraging Graeco-Turkish war scares.
France is urging national control of the manufacture of arms as a prelude to international control. Britain contends that no convention is effective unless signed by America. Possibly America will be invited to attend a conference in May.—(Sydney “Sun” cable).
