BOWLS.

DISTRICT SHIELD COMPETITION. Owing to the Waipukurau Club’s entry not being to hand when the draw was made it was believed they did not intend to compete. Their entry of two teams has, however, since been received by the Centre secretary, and dates have been allotted them which will not interfere wilh those originally fixed for the other clubs. They are as under (at home and away, as in the case of the other matches): —November 17th, v. Napier; December Ist, v. Hastings; December Bth, v. St. Leonard’s; December 15th, v. Wairere; December 29th, v. Kia Ton: January 12th, 1924, v. Port Ahuriri; January 19th, v. Bluff Hill; February 2nd, v. Havelock North; February 9th, v. Waipawa. WAIPAWA v. WAIRERE. The following will represent the Waipawa Club in its match against Wairere to-morrow: — Away: P. Dillon, Hathbone, Critehlev, Miller. At home: Holt, Wedde, Murdoch, Blaekic.
