AMUSEMENTS.

WAIKIKI HAWAIIANS TONIGHT. To-night the Waikiki Hawaiians, who present an entertainment of pleasing variety and considerable merit, will appear at the Municipal Theatre. Speaking of the appearance of the company at Marton the “Advocate” says: —“Last night’s performance by the Waikiki Hawaiian Company wtfs altogether different from the ordinary entertainment. Mr Keoke Greig, on his steel guitar, the star member of the troupe, showed his complete mastery of his instrument, the double stopping in the solos being particularly fine. Miss Lilliakalani, the famous Hula Hula dancer, pleased everybody, her graceful posing being much admired, and she gave a very clever performance. Miss Ane Leatta sang her Hawaiian songs sweetly. The Maori song, “E Pari Ra,” is deserving of a special note of recognition, the singers entering into the spirit of the words — a fine number. The other members, both in singing and playing, performed their parts well. The audience was enthusiastic and there were many recalls. The colored lights added greatly to the stage effects, and helped to make realistic the Hawaiian village scenes. Taken as a whole, last night’s performance was bright and pleasing, and decidedly novel.”
