HOW-COLDS ARE CONTRACTED. Colds are due to bacterial germs that are usually present in the air passages of the throat and nose. Under ordinary conditions they do no harm, but when you get chilled or very tired, which weakens your resistance, they arc quick to take advantage of it and almost before you know it you have a cold.
