THE RACING CUT.
INJUSTICE TO COUNTRY CLUBS. (Per Press Association). MARTON, This day. The Rangitikei Racing Club has placed before Mr Newman, M.P., a strong protest against the injustice of -he Racing Commission in proposing the withdrawal of the club’s annual permit. The chairman stated that the club was one of the oldest in the Dominion, having raced over G 5 years The course is one of the best on the oast, and the meetings are well conlitcted and popular,, as evidenced by the large attendances and excellent fields. The club does not intend to be sent under without a strong proest, and will place the matter-before Parliament. Mr Newman said although strongly ’gainst any increase in racing permits fie recognised the injustice being done .o country clubs. lie is strongly opposed to the Racing Commission’s recommendation respecting the Rangiikei Club being carried into effect.
