HISTORIC MARCH.
DOMINION TROOPS IN LONDON. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) LONDON, May 3. The Dominions’ march took place on a glorious afternoon. The whole route was thronged with cheering crowds. The Canadians led, then came the Australians, New Zealanders, South Africans, and Newfoundlanders. The King stood on a dais with the Queen, Prince of Wales and the Princess, Queen Alexandria, and the Duke of Connaught. On the ground in front of the dais was Mr W. Churchill with a group of army commanders, including Sir D. Haig, and Generals Plumer and Birdwood. On either side of the dais were the royal guests, including Mr and Mrs Massey, Sir J. G. Ward and Lady Ward, Sir T. and Lady Mackenzie, Sir A. and Lady Fisher, and Mr G. V. Pearce. Opposite the dais were several hundred Dominion soldiers, seated. Generals Chauvel and Monash led the Australians. General Chauvel joined the King- on the dais till the Australians passed. The King repeatedly questioned him regarding the various units. A young New Zealander was similarly placed and questioned.
An airship and fourteen aeroplanes manoeuvred over tile procession, but did not indulge in any daredevil tricks.
