Peace - - Celebrations. WAIPAWA’S PROGRAMME. AT a Meeting of the Peace Celebrations Committee on Saturday evening it was resolved to ask the Public to subscribe another £IOO to ensure the outlined Programme being carried through in its entirety. The Draft Programme for the Festivities includes the following:— Donations from residents in the country districts will also be welcomed, as the Festivities will be FREE TO ALL, town and country alike. MONDAY. MONSTER PROCESSION OF DECORATED CARS AND NOVELTY EXHIBITS. NOVELTY SPORTS. MASK BALL. TUESDAY, PROCESSION OF DECORATED CARS AND CHILDREN IN FANCY COSTUME. CHILDREN’S SPORTS. FIREWORKS DISPLAY. FREE PICTURE SHOW FOR THE KIDDIES. WEDNESDAY. BANQUET TO RETURNED SOLDIERS. VARIETY ENTERTAINMENT. The Committee proposes to carry out a uniform scheme of decoration in High street and Ruataniwha street, and these will include several ARCHES OF TRIUMPH. In the evenings the whole of the decorated area will be brightly illuminated. To carry this Programme through effectively will cost much moro than the Committee have in sight, and therefore residents of the town and district are appealed to to respond generously in order that Waipawa may fittingly celebrate one of the most important epochs in the history of the world.
