The annual meeting of the Waipawa Building Society will be held on Monday, 29th, in the Council Chambers. Malini, the world-famous conjuror, is booked to appear at Waipawa on Friday and Saturday next. Members of the Progressive Association are asked to attend a meeting to be held at 7 o’clock sharp on Monday evening to discuss the proposed masked ball, and other business. During this week a shipment of coal arrived at Napier from .Newcastle but two-thirds of the shipment wai commandeered by the Government t< meet urgent needs in various parts of the Dominion. The second annual show of tin Waipawa Poultry and Pigeon Society will he held in the Municipal Theatn mi Wednesday, .July 10th, and Mr F Johnson, of Palmerston North, Incheon appointed to judge the whole ot the poultry. The Society has beer, allotted the North Island Champion ships for utility brown leghorn hen: and for ducks any variety except Indian runners, two classes whicl should attract competition from al parts of the Island.
