ENEMY ADVANCE CHECKED. ON ROUMANIAN FRONT. Australian &’N.Z. Cable Association. Reuter Message. LONDON, August 22. A Russian official message states: We repulsed several enemy attacks on the Bistritza river, south-eastward of Krutche. ■The enemy slightly advanced in the direction of Ocna. The fighting for the Staklerie factory continued w T ith varying success. The enemy occupied, after fierce attacks, a small section of trenches in the region of Soveia. The Roumanians, by a counterattack, reoccupied the trenches eastward of the Foseani-Ajud railway and beat off attacks to the westward.
