GOLF.

WAIPAWA v. TAKAPAU. On Saturday afternoon a team representing the Waipawa Golf Club journeyed to Takapau to engage in a match with the local club. The weather was perfect, and a most enjoyable game resulted. The Takapau players proved much too strong for the visitors on their own links, winning nine out of the ten.games, although several of the contests produced close finishes. The Waipawa team were entertained at tea subsequently by the Takapau Club. Results of play:— E. Waldrom lost to Ropata. Deck lost to Maynard. C. Waldrom lost to Wliatu. James beat Russell. Ratlrbonc lost to Scott. Smith lost to Bowler. Pellow lost to Ellingham. Renouf lost to Caughley. Hogg lost to Stubbs. Critchley lost to Foot. WAIPUKURAU v. WAIPAWA. To-morrow a Waipukurau team will visit Waipawa to play a return match with the local club. Following is the Waipawa men’s team:—F. Oliver, E. Waldrom, C. Waldrom, Deck, Hazard, Ralhbone, Smith, Pellow, Renouf, Hogg. Emergencies: Critchley, Brittain, and 11. Oliver. Ladies’ team. —"Mrs A. Oliver, Mrs F.
