SERIOUS FIRE.
AT GOVERNMENT HOUSE, AUCKLAND. (lVr Press Association). AUCKLAND, Last night. Eight rooms and two corridors in Government House were destroyed by fire shortly before 8 o’clock on Saturdav night. Appearances indicate that the tire originated near the room occupied by Sir Hamilton when he visited Auckland From the point of origin the fire ipread hark through the private viceregal apartm< nts and down the main fUirca.se. Driven by the wind it enwloped the eastern wing. The damage is estimated at between CM) and £4OOO. Why run the risk? Insure with the Norwich Union Fire Office. All flasses of ri>ks covered. W. J.
